Wood is forgiving, but not invincible. These five habits take minutes and add decades to the life of your furniture and floors.
1. Coasters are non-negotiable
Heat rings and water marks are the most common damage we repair — and the easiest to prevent. Felt pads under hot dishes, coasters under everything else.
2. Dust dry, mop barely damp
Microfibre for dusting; a well-wrung mop for floors. Standing water is timber’s oldest enemy — if you can see puddles, the mop is too wet.
3. Oil once a year
Oiled surfaces drink a fresh coat annually. Wipe on, wait twenty minutes, buff off. The grain will look deeper the same evening.
4. Mind the sun
Direct sun bleaches timber unevenly. Rotate small pieces seasonally and consider UV film on the harshest windows.
5. Fix small chips fast
A dab of hard-wax filler today prevents a refinishing job tomorrow. Or call us — small repairs are our favourite kind of visit.
